Full Job Description
SMX is hiring a Product / Delivery Manager to serve as the connective tissue between our API consumers, development teams, and stakeholders across multiple workstreams. This role owns requirements, delivery timelines, and documentation for enterprise data products and APIs - translating consumer needs into clear requirements for development teams, and keeping delivery aligned across domains. This role is essential for ensuring the right capabilities are delivered on time, that consumers understand how to connect and consume, and that our product documentation stays accurate as the platform evolves.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Engage directly with API consumers to gather and document their requirements, use cases, and connectivity needs.
  • Partner with development teams on implementation, translating consumer requirements into actionable work and managing realistic delivery timelines.
  • Own and maintain the delivery backlog in Jira - creating and grooming stories, tracking progress, and keeping status current.
  • Create and maintain product requirements documentation (PRDs), ensuring requirements stay clear, current, and traceable through delivery.
  • Maintain the data catalog and related product documentation so consumers and stakeholders have accurate, up-to-date information.
  • Align timelines and dependencies across multiple teams, domains, and workstreams, proactively surfacing risks and resolving blockers.
  • Serve as a clear communication bridge between non-technical consumers and technical delivery teams, ensuring both sides share a common understanding.
  • Facilitate coordination across domains and stakeholders to keep delivery on track and expectations aligned.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in product management, delivery management, technical project management, or a similar role.
  • Security clearance required (Secret or higher).
  • Demonstrated ability to gather requirements from customers/consumers and translate them into clear work for development teams.
  • Experience managing delivery in Jira (backlog, stories, sprints) and maintaining product/requirements documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of platforms, APIs, storage layers, and data transmission concepts - enough to communicate credibly with technical teams (hands-on technical development is not required).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and align timelines across multiple teams, domains, and workstreams.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience working with API consumers or integration partners on connectivity and onboarding.
  • Familiarity with data platforms, data catalogs, and data-product or domain-driven delivery models.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
  • Exposure to data governance, metadata, or well-managed data practices.
  • Experience managing cross-functional delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams.
