Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Analyst, Crew Analytics, is responsible for mining, analyzing and reporting on complex crew and operational data to support the Crew Analytics team's goal of influencing crew related decisions, strategy formulation, process improvements, and other related functions. The analyst will partner with other crewmembers within Operations Resource Planning, Flight Ops, Inflight, System Operations, Finance and IT to ensure crew data is accurate, consumable and actionable. This role reports to General Manager Crew Analytics within the Enterprise Planning organization.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Produces innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets
  • Acquires in depth business knowledge as well as gathers and analyzes complex information about all components in the process, using a variety of data sources
  • Assists in crew database development
  • Supports the building and maintaining of internal crew analytics dashboards using Business Intelligence tools
  • Works with Business Customers to develop technological and analytical solutions
  • Applies analytical experience to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to problem solving, decision support, and process changes
  • Reports out weekly crew metrics and findings to multiple levels of the organization
  • Responsible for ad hoc reporting and analysis to support the team
  • Support operational and financial efficiency projects and business cases for Flight and Inflight
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in in Mathematics, Operations Research, Business, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Aviation or related field OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant experience
  • One (1) year of experience in an analytical role
  • Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Strong capabilities with database querying (e.g., SQL) and/or high-level programming language(s) (such as Python, R or Visual Basic)
  • Candidates must demonstrate SQL skills, data analysis skills, and the ability to communicate data-driven insights through a work sample assessment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, deadline driven team environment
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.


Preferred Experience and Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or related field
  • Two (2) years of analytical and modeling experience
  • Two (2) years of programming experience in Python/R/SQL/SAS
  • One (1) year of airline experience
  • Experience with business intelligence tools
  • Able to effectively influence others at equal and higher levels of the organization
  • Ability to work across departmental lines
  • Dynamic, energetic, proactive and self-motivated


Crewmember Expectations:
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
  • Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

Compensation:
  • The base pay range for this position is between $67,000 and $101,000per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue's total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.

JetBlue is a customer service channel for Major United States Airline based in Queens, New York. It is a passenger airline that operates primarily on point-to-point routes with its fleet of 120 Airbus A320 aircraft and 49 EMBRAER 190 aircraft.
