This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

The Corporate Development team is responsible for generating, managing, and executing mergers and acquisitions, minority investments, and partnership activities. As part of a small team responsible for originating, executing, and supporting acquisitions, you'll work to elevate Blue Origin's worldwide deal-making profile. You will work closely with the New Glenn, Blue Engines, and Advanced Development Programs business units to identify inorganic growth opportunities. You will support the Director of Corporate Development and senior leadership team by conducting industry research, investment analysis, due diligence, acquisition term sheets and contract negotiations, and both internal and external relationship building. In this role, you will be an entrepreneurial thinker who can make convincing, information-based arguments, demonstrating a strong bias for action.

Responsibilities:
  • Help identify opportunities which support Blue Origin's strategic priorities through interaction with senior business leaders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, investment bankers, and organic pipeline generation
  • Act as a subject matter expert on financial analysis, deal structuring, and valuation
  • Financial analysis, synergy forecasting, valuation and due diligence of potential acquisitions
  • Support cross-functional due diligence teams, including legal, finance & accounting, tax, human resources, operations, IT, sales, and strategy
  • Support deal flow process from term sheet signature to integration
  • Help evaluate opportunities and risks in potential transactions
  • Work with all cross-functional groups from term sheet signature to proper integration
  • Perform research, reporting and analysis on M&A activity in the industry
  • Present investment thesis memos and recommendations for all stages of the deal process (sourcing to integration planning)
  • Build and maintain tools, analytics, and reporting to highlight performance measurements


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or related analytical field
  • 3+ years of demonstrated ability in investment banking, corporate development, strategy, finance, or consulting, to include economic and financial modeling and high level negotiations
  • Experience crafting and analyzing M&A processes for a wide variety of transactions
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Desired:
  • MBA from a top tier business school
  • Experience in the space industry or another capital intensive, manufacturing or R&D oriented industry
  • Entrepreneurship or early stage start-up experience


Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20
