Job DescriptionWhat is the Opportunity?The Analyst/Associate, Market Risk Governance & Reporting will support the Market Risk team at RBC US across governance, reporting, documentation, and control functions. The role involves assisting with the production of weekly market risk capital reports, drafting and maintaining risk policies and procedures, performing data analysis to support control testing and reconciliation processes, and preparing materials for committee meetings and FRB examinations. The individual will gain broad exposure to market risk capital, regulatory governance, stress testing, and FRB supervisory processes at a major international bank. This is a versatile Market Risk role suited to a candidate seeking to build a strong foundation across reporting, governance, and risk management disciplines.
What will you do?- Support the weekly/monthly market risk reporting and governance process, including data validation, quality checks, break analysis, and production of summary reports for senior management - 25%
- Draft, maintain, and update Market Risk documentation including policies, procedures, process flow descriptions, methodology summaries, and governance framework materials - 20%
- Assist with the preparation of presentations, summary materials, and regulatory response documents for governance committees, senior management, and FRB engagements - 20%
- Perform data analysis and quality assurance to support control testing, reconciliation processes, and risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs) - 15%
- Support the maintenance and operation of governance processes including documentation - 10%
- Monitor regulatory publications and industry developments; maintain trackers of requirements and action items arising from supervisory guidance, internal audits, and regulatory examinations - 10%
What do you need to succeed?- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a quantitative field
- 1-4 years of experience at a bank, consulting firm, or financial institution with exposure to Market Risk, regulatory capital, risk governance, or a risk/control function
- Foundational knowledge of market risk management concepts (Basel III/IV, VaR, sensitivities/Greeks) and regulatory frameworks
- Understanding of financial products (rates, credit, equity, FX, commodities) and basic valuation concepts
- Strong data analysis skills including experience with Python, SQL, and Excel
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, OBI) is an asset
- Strong written and oral communication skills with attention to detail in documentation and presentation materials
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and deliver under tight deadlines in a production environment
- Autonomous, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a collaborative team setting

The expected salary range for this particular position is $120,000-$200,000 (New York) depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
