Full Job Description
The Analyst, AIR Analytics works as part of the Research & Evaluation team to provide technical expertise, gather and analyze information from various sources, interpreting patterns and trends to enhance the project work of CPSA. The Analyst, AIR Analytics will be responsible for using statistical methods/models and efficiently communicating findings and results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the collection, interpretation and analysis of data:
    • Conceptualize and develop data dashboards
    • Plan, create, program and manage various complex statistical databases and generate reports
    • Extract, clean data, perform data quality checks and various data harmonization
    • Analyze, interpret and draw conclusions from complex statistical information using linked and/or multiple data sources, and communicate data and results to partners.
    • Consult with scientific investigators, interpret research requirements, and determine statistical analysis strategies
    • Assist in conducting literature reviews, developing grant proposals, and developing research abstracts, presentations and manuscripts for dissemination of findings
  • Work with partners inside and outside the department to further advance CPSA's evidence-based research agenda, to perform tasks to:
    • Conduct data pulls, synthesis and analysis at the request of CPSA leadership
    • Contribute to the development, analysis, evaluation and knowledge translation of various research projects & initiatives
    • Collaborate with team members to identify novel measures and predictors of physician performance
    • Develop dashboards and other data visualization products
    • Advise and assist in the development of inferences and conclusions
    • Liaise with internal and external partners regarding the use of various data-sets to improve physician performance
  • In support of continuous quality improvement, review and make recommendations to update process or procedures within the program
  • Other duties as required.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree with a certificate in an area of specialty
    • 3 years of related experience

  • Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
    • Knowledge of scientific approach and research methodologies; Ability to apply a range of advanced statistical techniques in support of scientific research studies and/or experiments. Knowledge of scientific reporting and manuscript preparation requirements and standards.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the principles, concepts, methods, and standards of statistical research; Knowledge of current and emerging trends in advanced statistical analysis for scientific application. In-depth knowledge and understanding of probability and medical statistics theory. Knowledge of data management principles and regulatory requirements for clinical trials and medical research.
    • Experience designing dashboards and other data visualizations.
    • Strong analytical communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize projects. Strong focus and quality and timely delivery of work.
    • Ability to work in a team environment to design, analyze, and report on research and evaluation projects. Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise.
    • Analytical experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) data, longitudinal data, programming experience in statistical software and data dashboard displays is preferred.
    • Experience using a variety of advanced statistical software, methods, and techniques to gather, analyze, and interpret research data to derive useful information for research data. Experience working in SAS, SPSS, STATA, R, Python, PowerBI or similar programming languages.
    • Masters degree or higher degree not required, but would be an asset.


SALARY
The annual salary for this position is $81,568 and includes a comprehensive benefits package and pension plan.

During the 90-day probationary period, the successful candidate will be required to work from CPSA's downtown Edmonton office. At the conclusion of a successful probationary period, a hybrid work arrangement may be considered.
