We are building cutting-edge high-density silicon architectures and are seeking an Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Engineer to help take designs from concept through successful tapeout.
This role combines deep technical expertise with strong communication and systems thinking. You will serve as Avalon's analog subject-matter expert, working closely with external design partners while translating complex risks, trade-offs, and opportunities into clear guidance for internal teams.
This role is critical to protecting design integrity, reducing tapeout risk, and ensuring system performance.
What You'll Do
- Lead and review high-voltage mixed-signal designs, including complete tapeout cycles.
- Design and validate circuits in HV-CMOS or BCD processes, ensuring high-voltage robustness and reliability.
- Oversee high-density analog layouts, ensuring precision across large arrays of matched analog components.
- Serve as the primary interface with external design, reviewing simulation results, spotting red flags, and ensuring design integrity before tapeout.
- Translate complex analog issues into clear, actionable insights for the broader team, enabling informed technical decisions.
- Guide and upskill internal teams on analog design challenges, trade-offs, and best practices.
- Collaborate with Display Development, FPGA and Systems teams to ensure robust integration of analog IP into mixed-signal systems.
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field
- Demonstrated analog/mixed-signal design experience with successful tapeouts
- Experience with high-voltage mixed-signal designs at the
Technical Expertise
- Experience designing high-density matched analog arrays
- Deep understanding of layout-sensitive analog performance and matching requirements
- Experience designing for high-voltage robustness and reliability
- Experience with massively parallel analog architectures, high-granularity current/voltage steering, or large-scale integrated drivers is an asset
Design Integrity & Risk Assessment
- Experience in technical auditing of third-party IP and external design deliverables
- Ability to identify red flags and risk factors prior to tapeout
- Understanding of manufacturability, reliability, and performance trade-offs
Communication & Systems Thinking
- Ability to translate complex analog challenges into clear insights
- Skilled at explaining technical trade-offs to non-analog engineers
- Comfortable guiding cross-functional technical decisions
