The opportunity

As part of the Americas Tax Technology Group (ATTG), you will be part of an organization that designs, builds, and operates AI-enabled digital products that empower our Tax professionals and clients. ATTG partners closely with the Tax practice to deliver secure, scalable, and responsible technology solutions, including digital and mobile tools, data platforms, analytics, dashboards, visualization, and emerging generative AI-driven experiences.

The Development Senior Manager (DM) sits within the Solution Delivery pillar, responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of AI-enabled products that support the Americas Tax practice. This role blends people leadership, technical depth, and AI-informed decision making, ensuring products are delivered with speed, quality, and trust while aligning with firm architecture, security, and AI governance standards.

Your key responsibilities

Product & Delivery Leadership
  • Partner with Product Owners to design, plan, build, operate, and continuously improve one or more products within a portfolio, with a focus on AI-augmented capabilities
  • Own delivery outcomes including quality, reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability
  • Lead development teams to deliver secure, scalable, and cloud-native solutions, incorporating automation and AI where it drives measurable value
  • Ensure products meet 24x7 operational expectations, including leadership of urgent response teams for production issues


AI & StudioX-Aligned Engineering
  • Drive the responsible adoption of generative AI and advanced analytics in product development, testing, support, and operations
  • Ensure AI solutions follow Responsible AI principles (security, privacy, explainability, compliance, and human oversight)
  • Promote reuse of AI patterns, components, accelerators, and platforms across products and portfolios
  • Embed AI into developer workflows (e.g., design, coding, testing, documentation, support) to improve speed and quality


Architecture, Standards & Platforms
  • Partner with Development Leads and Architects to create and maintain architecture artifacts including:
    • Infrastructure Architecture Documents (IAD)
    • Solution Design Documents (SDD)
    • AI architecture and integration patterns
  • Ensure adoption of Reference Architecture standards, development patterns, and engineering best practices
  • Drive consistency across teams while allowing flexibility for innovation and experimentation


Team & Talent Leadership
  • Lead and grow high-performing, inclusive development teams across onshore, offshore, and hybrid models
  • Set clear goals, assign work, manage performance, and conduct career development discussions
  • Coach teams to balance delivery excellence with innovation, leveraging AI as a force multiplier
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and psychological safety


Operational, Vendor & Portfolio Management
  • Estimate LOE, manage staffing plans, and optimize capacity across the portfolio
  • Manage vendor relationships including assurance, procurement, and invoice approvals
  • Coordinate closely with DevOps, Architecture, InfoSec, Data, and Platform teams
  • Create and maintain technical and AI roadmaps aligned with product and business strategy
  • Produce clear technical documentation and ecosystem diagrams depicting product interdependencies


Skills and attributes for success
  • Proven track record delivering mission-critical, 24x7 enterprise systems
  • Strong grounding in software engineering fundamentals and modern development practices
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and APIs
  • Practical experience applying Agile / Lean delivery models
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex technical and AI-enabled solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong decision-making skills informed by data, quality metrics, and AI-assisted insights
  • Comfortable leading through ambiguity and driving outcomes at scale


To qualify for the role you must have
  • Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting, Finance preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience
  • 6+ years leading development teams using Agile/Lean practices
  • Experience delivering solutions using Microsoft .NET and modern UI technologies
  • Experience building cloud-native solutions (Microsoft Azure preferred)
  • Exposure to generative AI initiatives (product features, developer productivity, analytics, or automation)
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and platform engineering
  • Exposure to project and portfolio management
  • Tax domain experience


Ideally you will have
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams across development, test, and operations
  • Experience managing vendors and service providers
  • Experience managing onshore, offshore, and distributed teams

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $101,700 to $294,800. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $122,000 to $335,100. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
