About the roleThe
Associate / Vice President, Americas iShares Strategy will support the development and execution of strategic priorities for the U.S. iShares platform. The role will help shape the direction of our ETF platform through industry analysis, competitive intelligence, business planning and growth-focused strategic initiatives. The individual will partner across several BlackRock teams to develop insights, support key projects, and contribute to decision-making that advances the iShares 2030 agenda.
Success in this role requires strong strategic judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to synthesize complex inputs into clear recommendations and executable plans.
Key responsibilities Competitive Intelligence & Business Insights- Monitor competitor activity, product launches, fund flows, pricing developments, and ETF industry trends
- Develop recurring and ad hoc analyses to support iShares business management
- Synthesize information from multiple data sources into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
- Partner to drive forward growth areas including Fixed Income ETFs, Active and Outcome ETFs, Digital Assets and Model Portfolios
Leadership Support & Business Planning- Contribute to business intelligence efforts, contextualizing iShares results across broader industry trends
- Support GPS business planning, leadership forums, and ad-hoc analyses for senior management
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Build effective relationships across functions to drive alignment and information sharing
- Coordinate workstreams across stakeholders and help ensure timely execution of business priorities
Experience / Qualifications:- Prior experience in asset management, wealth management, financial services strategy, or strategy consulting (ETF experience preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex issues and develop recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and experience developing presentations and analyses for senior audiences
- High degree of professionalism, judgment, and attention to detail
Skills / Knowledge:- Strategic Thinking: Ability to structure business problems and develop data-driven insights
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills and ability to manage key deadlines
- Markets & Product Insight: Understanding of market dynamics and how product strategy intersects with client needs and distribution channels
- Communication: Ability to synthesize complex information into concise, actionable recommendations
- Technical Skills: Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with financial and business analysis leveraging AI; familiarity with 3rd party data sources (Bloomberg, Morningstar, SimFund, etc)
- Collaboration: Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively across functions and levels
