Full Job Description
Our Lamar office in Buffalo, New York, is now hiring an Airport General Manager. Based in Buffalo, NY, the Airport General Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing daily airport operations, driving business performance, and ensuring an exceptionalThis person is responsible for effectiveness and efficiency of all personnel in the plant. Maintain a positive relationship with the airport district(s) and oversee and grow major client accounts. Review and approve sales contracts as well as payables. Responsible for reviewing, approving, and monitoring financial documents, i.e. BSO, A/P Distribution, etc (approve GM Checklist). Sets plant policies and provides oversight and adherence to policies.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Education or Equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • 5-6 years of relevant experience, preferably in a supervisory role


A day in the life:

  • Develop and win new airport advertising opportunities
  • Attend conferences, pre-proposal meetings and industry events on a regular basis
  • Assist with existing LAAAC airports as needed
  • Promote financial profitability and fiscal responsibility
  • Provide support for any new markets and/or acquisitions as needed
  • May be required to establish and grow an account list in new markets
  • Responsibilities may include hiring, training and overseeing sales, administrative and operations staff
  • Cultivate other governmental advertising related contracts
  • Complete other duties assigned by manager in or outside area of responsibility
  • Travel as needed


Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • The primary work environment includes shop and outdoors.
  • The physical demands for this position include lifting (up to 50 pounds) more than 50% of the time, pushing, reaching, seeing (with a focus on reading, acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision), sitting less than 50% of the time, standing, stooping, talking, turning, walking, and climbing.
  • Nights spent traveling away from home may be extensive

Lamar Advertising is an outdoor advertising company which operates billboards, logo signs, and transit displays in the United States and Canada. The company was founded in 1902 by Charles W. Lamar and J.M. Coe, and is headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The company has over 200 locations in the United States and Canada. They have reportedly more than 325,000 displays across the USA. Lamar Advertising Company became a real estate investment trust in 2014. Lamar Advertising Company was founded in 1902 by J.M. Coe and Charles W. Lamar. The Company became independent under its current name in 1908 in Pensacola, Florida, when Charles W. Lamar, Sr. and J.M. Coe decided to dissolve their three-year partnership using a coin toss to divide their assets. The Pensacola Opera House and the Pensacola Advertising Company that was created to promote it were to be divided between the two men. Charles W. Lamar lost the toss and was left with the less-lucrative poster company, which he renamed the Lamar Outdoor Advertising Company. The Pensacola Opera House was destroyed during Hurricane Four of the 1917 Atlantic Hurricane season, with the Saenger Theatre later built on the site. In 2004, Lamar acquired Obie Media Corporation of Eugene, Oregon, adding 250 faces to its Washington and Idaho regions.
