This is an executive staff position responsible for implementation of business strategies to support the Airport's strategic business plan and advance the growth and diversification of Augusta Regional Airport through the economic development of aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue initiatives to include air service development. All duties are performed within the guidelines of federal and state laws and regulations, and airport policies and procedures.
- Cultivate new business opportunities, expansions, and innovative enterprise initiatives that generate aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue. Manage and direct revenue-generating functions of the Airport, including commercial property development, concessions, parking activities, and other diversified revenue opportunities. Leads and implement business initiatives for commercial land development and redevelopment of existing facilities.
- Develop, implement, and update the Airport's Strategic Business Plan in response to changing economic and regulatory conditions, while conducting market research via industry software resources. Utilize findings to market Airport property to prospective business opportunities.
- Serve as the Airport's primary tenant relations manager and work closely with commercial tenants to negotiate contracts and agreements while maintaining strong partnerships and support airport and industry objectives. Conduct regular tenant evaluations to ensure continuity, and fulfillment of contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with executive staff to align initiatives with Airport operations and strategic priorities. Prepare and manage annual budget. Prepare reports and presentations for boards, commissions, and executive staff in regard to business and economic development opportunities and analytics.
- Work with local, regional, and national chambers of commerce, tourism bureaus, economic development organizations, and related partners. Attend and conduct local and national meetings to promote the Airport and recruit new businesses.
- Manage the Airport's DBE, ACDBE , and other applicable local, state, and federal economic development programs.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES MIGHT INCLUDE:- Meeting with local, regional, and national economic industry groups.
- Meeting with real estate planners and property developers to promote airport property and economic development opportunities.
- Develop and produce new advertising campaigns to promote the airport within the community.
Required minimum qualifications:Education: BA/BS in Business, Economic Development, Marketing, Airport Management or related field of study.
Experience: Five years in economic and business development or similar position or sufficient experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:- Knowledge of industry economic and business development practices, Federal Aviation Administration requirements, and relevant federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of airport operations and the principles and practices of airport business management.
- Ability to systematically evaluate business opportunities and target those opportunities with the greatest potential for producing positive business results.
- Ability to formulate and execute procedures, make decisions, and assume responsibility.
- Ability to supervise and/or train designated subordinate personnel.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Maintain positive working relationships with airlines, airport tenants, developers, the media, and the public.
- Skill in operating computer-based software to prepare effective written communication and presentation materials.
- Skill in planning, organizing and establishing priorities.
OTHER:This position requires staff call up in an emergency situation.
This position requires travel from office to other locations.
This position requires training/supervisory responsibility of one staff member.
