Aeronautics Division is seeking an
Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This position serves as the WYDOT's only FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) licensed mechanic and is responsible for performing and supervising all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the State aircraft fleet. The Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor coordinates major off-site maintenance, ensures compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer requirements, maintains aircraft records, and oversees the continued airworthiness of WYDOT aircraft. In this vital leadership role, you'll help ensure safe, reliable air transportation for elected officials, state agencies, boards, and commissions as they conduct business that supports the health, safety, and welfare of Wyoming's citizens.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.
- Manage and/or perform maintenance related activities to the various models of state owned aircraft.
- Manage, forecast and coordinate upcoming periodic maintenance events with the flight scheduling and outside maintenance providers to ensure aircraft safety airworthiness and maximize aircraft availability.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair state aircraft and service equipment.
- Travel with aircraft to outlying maintenance providers as needed.
- Manage aircraft maintenance operations.
- Review all work payment invoices pertaining to maintenance of the state aircraft.
- Responsible to maintain parts inventory, ordering replacement parts as necessary.
- Perform system servicing, touch up paint and cosmetic repairs.
QualificationsKNOWLEDGE: - Extensive knowledge of principles of operation, maintenance and report requirements of turbine powered aircraft and their related systems.
- Extensive knowledge of airframe construction and repair.
- Working knowledge of the tools, equipment, methods and techniques used in the inspection, maintenance and repair of aircraft.
- Knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations pertaining to aircraft maintenance
- Knowledge of personal computer and other office equipment and software.
- Knowledge of FAA reports, maintenance records, logbooks and budget information.
- Knowledge of the use of hazardous chemicals, solvents, paints and other elements to control aircraft corrosion.
- Knowledge of complex manuals, diagrams, schematics, manufacturer's service documents, FAA airworthiness directives and parts catalogs to inspect, repair and modify aircraft and their components
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Bachelor's Degree (typically in Management)
Experience:1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically as an Aviation Mechanic) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Aircraft Hangar Coordinator.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:FAA Airframe and Power plant License required.
OR Education & Experience Substitution:4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically as an Aviation Mechanic) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Aircraft Hangar Coordinator.

Necessary Special RequirementsPHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:- Ability to lift 75 pounds and carry 100 feet to manipulate to aircraft.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crawl and climb as necessary to perform aircraft inspections, repairs and or modifications as required.
