Full Job Description
The Aircraft Maintenance Manager (Aviation Production Control) provides daily oversight of all functional and operational activities in maintenance of facilities, equipment, and machinery. Ensures all maintenance functions are conducted in accordance with appropriate safety directives, standard operating procedures, and technical manuals.

  • Ensure maximum efficient operations of facilities, equipment, and machinery through the direction of a technical support staff.
  • Coordinate the flow of maintenance and supervise maintenance status reporting.
  • Recommend equipment modification for upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
  • Assign and coordinate the work of maintenance staff and vendors.
  • Review and implement all mechanical specifications and manuals for current operations.
  • Coordinate specifications and procurement of capital expenditures.
  • Responsible for installation of equipment, preventative maintenance, and facility/equipment repair to support manufacturing.
  • Establish and track progress toward meeting the goals and objectives of process improvement procedures.
  • Ensure all direct reports and maintenance employees receive job and safety training. Recommend and initiate personnel actions.
  • Management and coordination of work.
  • Coordination with other activities across the local site.
  • Support Program Management and Site Supervision as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements

  • Extensive technical knowledge of machinery, facilities, and equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude in order to offer technical direction in all maintenance areas.
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure and continuously meet deadlines.
  • Must have at least ten years of aviation maintenance experience
  • Must have five years of supervisory experience.
  • Must have three years of US Army aviation maintenance experience.
  • Must have two years of US Army aviation maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to travel (50%) if needed.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.


Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.


Preferred/Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Most heavy lifting is accomplished using mechanical devices.
  • Work is performed in Aircraft maintenance hangar that is moderately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Work could be performed outside as well.
  • May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance.
  • May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
  • Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications is a plus.

  • Will handle dirty parts and lubricants.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc.


California: Compensation & Benefits:

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $ 99,000 - 102,100 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

This position includes a competitive benefits package.

Bi-weekly accrual of 4.92 hours (0 to less than 60 months)

Bi-weekly accrual of 6.45 hours (60 months but less than 120 months)

Bi-weekly accrual of 7.99 hours (120 months but less than 240 months)

Bi-weekly accrual of 8.77 hours (240 months or more)

11 paid Holidays (outlined in CBA)

Sick Leave - 56 hours per year (1.08 hours weekly / 2.16 hours bi-weekly accrual)
