Full Job Description
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for an ATCALS (Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems) Equipment Specialist (GS-1670-12) to join the Air Force Engineering and Technical Services (AFETS) team at the Air Force Flight Standards Agency (AFFSA), Oklahoma City, OK! In this position, you would serve as the senior technical expert and advisor for Radar, Airfield, and Weather (RAWS) systems.

Salary Range (GS-12 in Oklahoma City, OK with locality): $89,508 - $116,362

QUALIFICATIONS
• US Citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance.
• Must have experience with Deployable Instrument Landing system (D-ILS), Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN), Radar, SATCOM, Glideslope, Localizer, and other associated airfield systems (AFS).
• This is a drug testing position. The employee is subject to random drug testing.
• Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
• Employees must sign a Memorandum of Understanding including Selection, Restriction, Outplacement, Tour and Mobility Agreement as a condition of employment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Apply a full spectrum of knowledge and experience in the design, planning, employment, and acquisition of existing and future ATCALS systems.
• Provides technical assistance as requested in support of assigned or deployed weapon systems. Installs, removes, relocates, modifies, deploys, and maintains fixed and mobile meteorological, navigation and air traffic control ground-to-air radio systems.
• Provides expert-level knowledge of system design and operation, block diagram level signal flow, circuit level analysis and troubleshooting, advanced knowledge of basic and unique test equipment, system sitting criteria, and flight inspection procedures and parameters.
• Advises senior leadership on airfield systems policies and practices, serves as mentor to the installation organizations, and provides advanced specialized technical training.
