Full Job Description
As our new Air Quality Scientist/ Engineer , you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

The successful candidate will support air quality assessments for mining, industrial, infrastructure, and other resource-development projects throughout BC and Western Canada.

The position will focus on atmospheric dispersion modelling, emission inventories, and regulatory permitting. The preferred location is Vancouver; however, candidates located in Kamloops, Kelowna, Prince George, or other major hubs in BC will also be considered.

  • Qualifications/Education/Memberships:
  • Bachelor's degree in atmospheric science, environmental science, environmental engineering, geography, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in air quality consulting, dispersion modelling or a closely related field.
  • Practical experience applying the CALPUFF dispersion modelling system.
  • Experience developing or reviewing emission inventories using recognized methods, such as US EPA AP-42.
  • Working knowledge of BC's air quality regulatory framework, including the British Columbia Air Quality Dispersion Modelling Guideline and provincial ambient air quality objectives.
  • Strong data management and technical analysis skills.
  • Strong technical writing, organizational, and verbal communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in atmospheric science, environmental science, environmental engineering, geography, or related discipline.
  • Professional designation, or eligibility for registration in BC.
  • Experience completing air quality work for mining projects, including preparing dispersion modelling and emission inventories.
  • Experience supporting applications or amendments for air discharge permits in BC.
  • Familiarity with ambient air quality or meteorological monitoring programs and the use of monitoring data to establish baseline programs.
