JOB SUMMARY

The Air Quality Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting air quality and permitting needs within the environmental department. This position will collaborate with field and town team members to ensure permitting is put in place for standard operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Perform and manage a variety of activities at multiple facilities, fields, and operating areas to secure air quality permits and authorizations necessary for operations.
  • Perform and manage a variety of efforts at multiple facilities, fields, and operating areas to maintain compliance with air quality statutes, regulations, ordinances, and other legal requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor project plans associated with the permitting and compliance efforts.
  • Coordinate permitting and compliance with internal clients and environmental specialists who support them.
  • Serve as liaison to government agencies who regulate air quality.
  • Train office and field personnel in air quality requirements and procedures.
  • Track regulatory changes associated with air quality regulation.
  • Collect and manage Air Quality compliance data. Ensure required data is collected, reviewed for accuracy, and input into data management systems.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews on data and reports to ensure they are complete, accurate, and representative.
  • Generate and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual Air Quality compliance reports as assigned. Reports must be on time and accurate.
  • Work with field personnel, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and software engineers to incorporate changes from permits into updates to databases, software, and procedures.
  • Assist with development of best management, operations, and maintenance procedures/practices.
  • Work with facility personnel to prepare facilities for agency inspections and audits, and accompanies agency personnel on the inspections and audits, as requested.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to provide solutions for technical questions related to any aspect of Air Quality compliance.
  • Manage and complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities under pressure.
  • Identify deficiencies and collect data in a manner that maintains good working relationships between office and field personnel.
  • Identify programmatic and systematic deficiencies, optimize systems/processes, and maximize efficiencies.
  • Complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Assist in maintaining the company's environmental records.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of experience with air quality permitting and compliance in Alaska
  • 2+ years of oil and gas exploration and production experience in Alaska
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, agency personnel, and the public
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ability to learn other IT tools quickly
  • Outstanding administrative and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Environmental compliance management and oversight, including but not limited to the establishment of operations and maintenance procedures
  • Exceptional proficiency in data management
  • Proficient with creation and maintenance of complex spreadsheets
  • Self-starter able to prioritize tasks and manage workflow with little oversight

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment requirements outlined below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. A post-offer, pre-hire Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to ensure an employee's ability to safely meet job standards.
