Full Job Description
Role Summary:

The AI Team Lead leads a multidisciplinary team delivering production-grade AI solutions for industrial and manufacturing environments, including telemetry analytics, machine vision, inspection systems, and data-driven optimization. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership and project execution, requiring a pragmatic leader who can bridge advanced AI innovation with real-world industrial constraints while driving delivery excellence and client value.

What to expect as your main responsibilities:
  • Architect and oversee development of end-to-end AI solutions (from model development to deployment to on-going monitoring) in industrial environments.
  • Lead and mentor a team of AI/ML developers/engineers, computer vision specialists, and frontend/backend software developers; enforce best practices in MLOps, code quality, and system reliability.
  • Drive industrial IP-building initiatives for modular technology "bricks" creation (e.g., defect detection engine, quality inspection, object tracking, forecasting modules) using state-of-the-art deep learning and classical techniques where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to translate operational problems into scalable AI solutions with measurable ROI.
  • Manage project delivery: scope definition, technical roadmaps, and deployment risk mitigation.
  • Ensure robust deployment in constrained/edge environments (latency, hardware, lighting variability, data drift, dirty environments, etc.).
  • Stay current with advancements in industrial AI, vision models, and deployment frameworks, and guide technology selection.

Core Qualifications:
  • Strong background in deep learning (e.g., CNNs, transformers, detection/segmentation models).
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English (The position requires regular interaction with colleagues, suppliers and customers based outside of Quebec, nationally and internationally).
  • Experience deploying AI systems in production, ideally in industrial or manufacturing settings.
  • Proficiency with relevant stacks (Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, OpenCV, edge deployment frameworks).
  • Solid understanding of MLOps, data pipelines, and system integration (APIs, PLCs, MES/SCADA systems).
  • Proven leadership experience managing highly technical teams and delivering complex projects.

Why join Maya HTT?

  • Permanent Position and Competitive Base Salary.
  • 100% Employer-Paid Benefits starting from Day One: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Short/Long Term disability insurances.
  • Retirement Savings: Group RRSP / DPSP Plan with Employer Contributions open to join from Day One
