Title:

AI Systems Engineer

This is a contingent position based upon contract award

KBR is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an AI/ML Systems Engineer. This is a contingent hire for a full-time client facing position supporting a government agency.  If you have a passion for systems engineering and the integration of new technologies such as AI/ML, this is the perfect opportunity to apply your expertise and contribute to impactful projects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and apply systems engineering products and analyses to support requirement development, acquisition, deployment, and sustainment of AI/ML capabilities.

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain AI and machine learning models using given datasets and customer requirements.

  • Test and develop machine learning that meet or exceed desired performance evaluation metrics.

  • Utilize understanding of the concepts of supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, model evaluation metrics, and hyperparameter tuning.

  • Monitor model performance in production environments to ensure reliable, efficient, and scalable model performance.

  • Develop AI/ML concept plans, including requirements and conceptual planning.

  • Assist in the design and development of AI algorithms.

  • Conduct technology trade studies to research, analyze, and evaluate various options, documenting results to determine the best value solution for specific problems

  • Perform engineering investigations of considerable complexity to resolve technical issues

  • Review literature, patents, and current practices to inform solutions for assigned projects

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering Three (3) or more years of relevant IC or DoD financial experience

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively complex systems design, acquisition, and test experience

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in systems or electrical engineering preferred.

  • Systems Engineering certification from INCOSE or DAWIA preferred.

  • 10 years of experience in AI/ML preferred

Basic Compensation:

$171,700.00 - $209,800.00

This range is for the Washington, DC Metro Area area only

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
