Full Job Description
The role

Watershed is looking for an AI Search & Web Lead to own our end to end web infrastructure and our longterm visibility amidst an evolving web landscape. This is a hands-on role sitting within Demand Generation, responsible for both the infrastructure that powers our website and the organic growth outcomes it drives.

The scope covers a lot of ground: maintenance of our existing CMS, a web developer and part-time agency, CRO, and a growing mandate around AI/LLM search optimization. Success in this role requires close collaboration with Content, Product Marketing, and Design to own the website content. As lead, you'll be responsible for setting priorities, shaping what gets built, and making sure the site reflects where the brand and product are heading.

What you'll own

Organic and AI-sourced pipeline

MQL and pipeline contribution from organic and AI search is the primary scorecard. You'll work across SEO, content infrastructure, and on-page optimization to grow inbound lead volume and quality.

LLM rankings and AEO / GEO

You'll track where Watershed appears (and doesn't) in AI-generated answers, run experiments, build the measurement approach, and steadily improve our visibility and citation rate across the content themes that matter most to Watershed.

Optimization & testing

You'll run a rigorous testing program across the website + key organic/GEO channels, working with Design and Content to improve conversion at every step - with pipeline impact as the measure.

What we're looking for
  • Someone with a known playbook for scaling organic growth + improving LLM visibility and citations
  • A strong POV on scaling and improving website content + functionality leveraging AI
  • Hands-on AB testing experience; you can build and run a testing program from day one without a lot of ramp time
  • A strong ability to manage external vendors and developers without needing to write all the code yourself
  • Strong analytical instincts; you track what you own and know when something is or isn't working.
  • Deep fluency in AI tools and models, both as a growth channel and a leverage point for team productivity and impact

Must be willing to work from an office 4 days per week (except for remote roles)

Watershed has hub offices in San Francisco, New York, London, and Mexico City and satellite offices in Denver, Sydney, Paris, and Berlin. Where we have offices, employees are expected to be in office for 4 days per week. Certain jobs are open to being remote and will be specifically noted on the jobs page and in the job description if so.

What's the interview process like?

It starts the same for every candidate: getting to know the team members through 1 to 2 conversations about Watershed, your experience, and your interests. Next steps can vary by role, but usual next steps are a skill or experience interview (e.g. a coding interview for an engineer, a portfolio review for a designer, deeper experience call for other roles) which leads to a virtual or in person interview panel. We prioritize transparency and lack of surprise throughout the process.

What if I need accommodations for my interview?

At Watershed, we are dedicated to ensuring an inclusive recruitment process. We provide reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities, long-term conditions, mental health needs, religious observances, neurodivergence, or pregnancy-related support requirements. If you need assistance during your process, please contact your recruiter.
