What you'll be doing

Join CIBC’s Advanced Analytics Delivery, Artificial Intelligence team as the Director, AI Product Scaling. In this senior role, you’ll be responsible for transforming promising AI solutions into scalable products that deliver value across multiple lines of business. You’ll lead the transition from prototype to production, establishing standards, processes, and engineering partnerships that enable the broader data science team to deliver efficiently and consistently. Your technical expertise, engineering credibility, and product mindset will help ensure that every solution is robust, reusable, and business-focused. You’ll actively coach junior data scientists, partner with infrastructure and API teams, and serve as a technical leader in business development conversations. How you'll succeed

  • AI Solution Scaling – Own the transition of AI solutions from pilot or proof-of-concept to fully scaled products across multiple lines of business, ensuring robust delivery and adoption.
  • Practice Building & Standards – Establish and maintain the team’s software development lifecycle (SDLC), including structured CI/CD handoff processes and reusability standards for shared components and documentation.
  • Technical Partnership – Collaborate with CDAO engineering and ML infrastructure teams to streamline the path from model development to production API deployment.
  • Coaching & Leadership – Lead delivery on high-priority use cases while coaching junior data scientists to execute within established frameworks and best practices.
  • Strategic Delivery – Maintain a view of the use case backlog, contributing to sequencing and scoping decisions to maximize throughput and value.
  • Business Development Support – Serve as a technical voice in business development conversations, credibly scoping opportunities and setting accurate expectations.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 7+ years of experience in data science, ML engineering, or AI product delivery, with a proven track record of taking AI solutions through the full lifecycle to production. You have demonstrated experience establishing SDLC, code standards, processes in a team setting, enabling scalable and repeatable delivery. It’s an asset if you have experience in financial services or similarly regulated industries and you’re adept at working across organizational boundaries to move initiatives forward.
