Role Summary
The AI Process Transformation Lead will help Global Distribution teams fundamentally improve how work gets done by combining deep process understanding with the opportunities created by artificial intelligence.
As a senior member of a dedicated Implementation Pod, this role will work directly alongside the business team, Applied AI Solutions Lead, and AI Adoption & Integration Lead during focused engagements. The AI Process Transformation Lead will rapidly develop a fact-based understanding of the current workflow, identify the highest-value points of leverage, and co-design a materially better future state.
The role requires someone who can quickly make sense of complex and unfamiliar work: understanding activities, volumes, decisions, handoffs, exceptions, controls, systems, and performance, while challenging assumptions about what can be a candidate for change.
This is not a traditional requirements-gathering or business-analysis position. The AI Process Transformation Lead is a senior transformation practitioner who helps the business reimagine its work and stays deeply engaged through implementation.
Responsibilities
Understand the Work:
- Rapidly get to the core of how a business workflow operates today through direct engagement with the Associates and leaders who perform and manage the work.
- Map the critical activities, inputs, outputs, volumes, decisions, handoffs, systems, controls, exceptions, bottlenecks, and recurring sources of effort or friction.
- Establish practical performance baselines and identify the portions of the workflow where improvement could create meaningful business value.
- Distinguish root causes from symptoms and challenge assumptions about why existing activities, approvals, or handoffs exist.
Reimagine the Work:
- Co-design the target-state workflow alongside the business team and Applied AI Solutions Lead, combining deep knowledge of how the work operates today with emerging AI capabilities to create a materially better future state.
- Determine which elements of the workflow should be simplified, eliminated, automated, AI-augmented, or fundamentally reimagined.
- Translate the future-state design into clear roles, decisions, handoffs, exception paths, controls, and measures of success.
- Maintain a strong focus on the primary business outcome and resist unnecessary complexity or scope expansion.
Deliver and Learn at Pace:
- Stay actively involved through rapid build, testing, iteration, launch, and handoff rather than treating process design as a front-end deliverable.
- Work with real users to test the proposed future state and adapt the workflow as the team learns what works in practice.
- Partner with the AI Adoption & Integration Lead to ensure the redesigned process can be understood, adopted, and sustained by the business.
- Capture reusable process patterns and lessons that can accelerate future engagements or identify opportunities for broader transformation.
Mindset
- Analytical and structured: naturally seeks facts, patterns, clarity, and measurable evidence.
- Organized and grounded: quickly turns messy work into an understandable operating model.
- Insatiably curious about how work actually happens.
- Comfortable getting into operational detail without losing sight of the business outcome.
- Challenges legacy assumptions respectfully and constructively.
- AI-forward, while remaining focused on solving the problem rather than forcing AI into it.
- High urgency, low ego, and energized by solving a succession of different business problems as part of a team.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, operations, engineering, finance, information systems, or a related discipline and 8+ years of related experience.
- Experience in process transformation, operations, management consulting, continuous improvement, business architecture, or related roles.
- Demonstrated experience independently leading the analysis and redesign of complex business workflows.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including experience establishing performance baselines and measurable target outcomes.
- Ability to rapidly learn unfamiliar business domains and ask incisive questions of subject-matter experts.
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder-management skills across frontline, management, and senior-leadership audiences.
- Working understanding of generative AI, automation, and emerging AI-enabled workflows.
Preferred:
- Experience in asset management, financial services, or another regulated environment.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, process engineering, service design, or related disciplines.
- Experience implementing technology-enabled transformation rather than only developing recommendations.
- Familiarity with process-mapping, process-mining, workflow, or analytical tools.
