Full Job Description
About the team and the role:

Analytics at eBay is undergoing a fundamental shift from traditional business intelligence toward products that incorporate machine learning and automation. Our team sits at the intersection of analytics, product, and AI, and is reimagining our Business Intelligence ecosystem as a suite of AI-native applications. We are building AI-enabled experiences that allow product and business teams to diagnose performance, uncover insights, and take action with confidence.

As the AI Analytics Product Manager, you will own the strategy and delivery of agentic AI experiences committed to product health and performance diagnostics. You will partner closely with AI developers, data scientists, and domain teams to turn complex product signals into trusted, actionable insights. This role is ideal for someone excited to move beyond analysis into productizing intelligence and shaping how eBay interacts with data in the AI era.

What you will accomplish:
  • Lead the end-to-end product strategy for AI agents that monitor product health, driving clearer awareness of product performance, operational health, user behavior, and business metrics.
  • Deliver AI-powered workflows that help teams quickly detect issues, explain metric changes, surface root causes, and identify recommended actions, reducing time-to-diagnosis for critical benchmarks.
  • Build intuitive, natural-language experiences that enable partners to ask questions about important metrics, anomalies, trends, regressions, and key drivers, improving how teams self-serve insights.
  • Translate monitoring and observability needs into robust agent workflows (including alert investigation, metric analysis, root-cause exploration, and summarization) that scale across products and markets.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML, analytics, and data teams to define trusted metrics, source systems, evidence requirements, and evaluation frameworks so that AI-generated answers are grounded, explainable, and reliable.
  • Establish and refine guardrails for accuracy, explainability, blocking issue resolution, and human review in high-impact decision workflows, building trust in AI-assisted decision-making across eBay teams.
What you will bring:
  • Approximately 12+ years of experience in data science and analytics, with a track record of building or contributing to AI analytics, observability, monitoring, or decision-support products.
  • Experience designing or managing AI-first or LLM-enabled products (such as chatbot-style or agentic experiences), including prompt flows, retrieval strategies, and feedback loops for continuous improvement.
  • Solid understanding of benchmarks, product health metrics, anomaly detection, weekly performance diagnostics, and root-cause analysis workflows, ideally in large-scale product or platform environments.
  • Proficiency with product analytics platforms, observability tools, experimentation systems, and modern data workflows, and comfort working across metrics, dashboards, and experiments.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with AI/ML and analytics teams on topics such as RAG, evaluation, grounded answer quality, and AI safety, with a focus on transparency, explainability, and auditability.
  • Strong communication and collaborator management skills. Translates unclear user needs into clear product direction. Prioritizes features considering user feedback, usage patterns, and business impact.
