Summary

Protect the environment while helping drive operational excellence. As an Environmental Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring environmental compliance across the Bainbridge facility and other assigned Agribusiness locations. You'll partner with operations leaders to navigate complex environmental regulations, lead compliance initiatives, secure permits, and provide expert guidance that supports safe, sustainable, and efficient operations. This role is ideal for a proactive environmental professional who enjoys solving challenges, building strong cross-functional relationships, staying ahead of evolving regulations, and making a meaningful impact on environmental stewardship and business success.

The salary range for this position is $101,000 - $151,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Develop understanding of and support compliance with environmental compliance programs for regional satellite facilities, including air quality, wastewater, SPCC, FRP, EPCRA, and RCRA programs.
• Assist with developing and securing new or updated permits and plans.
• Complete permit-required inspections and related regulatory submittals in a timely, accurate, and consistent manner.
• Monitor changes in the environmental landscape, including new and updated regulations, to position Perdue Agribusiness for continued compliance excellence.
• Provide direction and guidance to facility and operational leaders on environmental matters.
• Develop working knowledge of site operations and processes.
• Update and present environmental training materials to associates and management.
• Document and organize environmental records, including permits, regulatory communications, inspections, and production data, in electronic and hard-copy formats as appropriate.
• Complete other related tasks assigned by the Environmental Department.

Minimum Education and Experience
• 9 years of work experience in the environmental field. No experience required with a Bachelor of Science degree.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Knowledge of standard software applications for word processing and spreadsheets.
• Strong communication, organizational, mathematical, and analytical skills.
• Maintain Visual Opacity Method 9 certification (smoke school provided semiannually).
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Education and Experience
• Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or Biological Sciences.
• 5 years of work experience in the environmental field.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
• Move freely throughout Agribusiness facilities, including climbing vertical heights from 0 to 150 feet.
• Carry tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work in temperatures ranging from 0°F to 100°F.
• Work in humidity levels ranging from 0% to 100%.
• Work in noise levels ranging from 50 to 100 dB.
• Work around chemicals (Safety Data Sheets available).
• Wear required personal protective equipment, including a self-contained breathing apparatus, as appropriate.
• Communicate by telephone and use standard office equipment.
• Travel to remote Agribusiness facilities.
