Could you be the full-time Engineer in Naperville, IL we're looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside innovative, dedicated, and collaborative teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in developing and managing engineering solutions to prevent obsolescence. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (including Rolling Stock Engineering, Project Management, and Supply Chain), coordinate with vendors to ensure compliance with customer requirements, and much more.

You'll specifically take care of delivering essential engineering solutions that directly contribute to the success of our Aftermarket Customers, but also ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.

We'll look to you for:
  • Performing system risk assessments based on engineering knowledge, Alstom procedures, and design authority input
  • Utilizing IPC, maintenance manuals, and other resources for tracking and input into obsolescence management tools
  • Delivering obsolescence solutions such as reverse engineering, repair, new design, supplier partnerships, circular economy approaches, and make-to-print strategies to meet form, fit, and function (FFF) specifications
  • Providing assembly/repair instructions, creating new design drawings, developing required documentation, and updating engineering change orders
  • Reviewing vendor technical proposals to ensure compliance with specifications and product safety
  • Preparing mechanical, electrical, and interface schematics, drawings, and documentation for assigned systems while meeting deliverable schedules
  • Coordinating with vendors and customers to confirm compliance with requirements and ensuring design validity
  • Maintaining knowledge of rail and electrical-electronic norms and standards such as FRA, AAR, IEEE, and ANSI
  • Supporting bid proposals for repairing, redesigning, and overhauling rail industry systems
  • Operating within the ALSTOM Change Control Board (CCB) and leading design and gate reviews for electrical parts

Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary Range: $70,400 - $110,550 DOE
  • Medical HSA/FSA, Dental, Vision and 401K
