The PositionThe
Affiliate Chief Financial Officer serves as the senior financial leader for North Central Kansas Medical Center, with administrative responsibility for the organization's overall financial management and long-term fiscal stewardship. The Affiliate CFO will provide strategic and operational leadership for financial planning, budgeting, cash and investment management, financial reporting, and organizational strategic planning to support the hospital's mission and objectives.
This leader will direct and oversee the hospital's core financial and business operations, including revenue cycle management, accounting, patient financial services, health information management (medical records), and decision support. Additionally, the Affiliate CFO will ensure the integrity of financial processes, promote operational efficiency, and provide data-driven insights to support informed decision-making across the organization.
This leader will partner with executive leadership and departmental leaders to align financial strategies with operational priorities, strengthen financial performance, and support the delivery of high-quality patient care. The Affiliate CFO will lead the development and monitoring of the annual financial plan while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the organization's financial position and future growth opportunities.
The NCKMC CFO reports directly to the CFO at Salina Regional Health Center and has a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Administrator/CEO at North Central Kansas Medical Center.

- Effectively oversees and manages all financial aspects of the organization, maintaining a clear understanding of the facility's financial position across assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses based on past, current, and planned future operations.
- Contributes to a positive, productive, and effective workplace culture removing barriers and providing guidance and direction to make decisions that will provide the best outcomes for patients, employees, department, and the organization.
- Clearly assigns responsibilities and tasks to assigned department directors and others, establishes effective controls, ensures that necessary resources and authority are available, and monitors progress to increase efficiency and enhanced outcomes.
Access- Practices critical thinking, good judgment, and professional insight in communication and collaboration to build teamwork, facilitate change, mediate conflict, and identify and improve key work systems and processes to deliver efficient and effective services.
- Promotes growth and development of staff by setting clear expectations, coaching and mentoring, and evaluating performance effectively and timely.
Stewardship- Demonstrates responsibility for containment of health center costs and conservation of supplies, equipment, and human resources by developing financial plans and monitoring expenses, benchmark/productivity standards; staffing levels/rations to volume; and alignment of departmental goals and operations with best practices and corporate strategies.
- Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures; and ensures compliance with SRHC policies and procedures, federal/state rules and regulations, accreditation standards, and SRHC Code of Conduct.
- Maintains personal professional growth and development through active participation in professional affiliations, attendance at seminars and conferences, continuing education programs, and profession networking opportunities.
Education- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- Master's degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
Experience- Minimum of five years of accounting experience
- Healthcare accounting experience strongly preferred
Required Registration/ License/ Certification- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
