The Opportunity:

CACI is currently seeking an Aerospace Engineer in support of a program whose initiative is aimed at combating evolving and emerging threats, supporting related exploitation and replication activities, and advancing operational rehearsal, exercise, wargaming, and counter system development.


Provide advanced engineering support for modeling and simulation systems engineering efforts. This role involves performing engineering duties in designing, constructing, and testing aircraft, missiles, spacecraft, and industrial production systems. Candidate will support all phases of the system life cycle for assigned aviation, ground, missile, space, sea, and soldier weapon systems, programs, and projects.

Responsibilities:
Systems Engineering Support:

  • Provide SE support and technical expertise during all phases of the life cycle for assigned weapon systems, programs, and projects
  • Perform tasks necessary to define, plan, and execute SE technical processes IAW DOW SE guidance and IEEE 15288, 15288.1 and 15288.2
  • Conduct requirements definition and analysis, operational/functional/physical architecture development, design synthesis and analysis
  • Support design implementation and integration, verification and validation, and transition to operational use

Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE):

  • Develop and implement MBSE tools and products to support SE processes throughout the acquisition lifecycle
  • Create MBSE project plans, best practices, and procedures for assigned systems
  • Develop MBSE models and modeling artifacts using SysML, DoDAF, or equivalent frameworks
  • Support analyses and evaluation of MBSE models to perform requirements analyses, gap analysis, and interface control

Technical Analysis & Evaluation:

  • Perform upfront systems engineering to conduct trade studies and analysis
  • Conduct fidelity analysis to determine appropriate models for accurate representation within system-of-systems architecture
  • Perform systems engineering modeling to support concept of operations, behavioral analysis, and system architecture
  • Execute technical measurement and assessment activities

Infrastructure & Integration Support:

  • Provide technical expertise for modeling and simulation equipment within Government offices, laboratories, and test locations
  • Support installation and system maintenance for M&S systems in designated facilities
  • Coordinate with ESI Directorate facilities for security, safety, property transfers, cybersecurity, and lab management

Collaborative Engagement:

  • Work collaboratively with other contractors internal and external to ESI and Government Partners
  • Attend engineering-related technical reviews, exercise support, field tests, and budget reviews
  • Support exercise planning and execution activities as required

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in technical field including: Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or, Industrial Engineering, Architecture, Chemistry, Mathematics, Operations Research, Physics, Environmental, Architectural, or Civil Engineering; Meteorology/Atmospheric Sciences, or other engineering majors
  • Minimum 3 years of experience or 5 Years in lieu of degree
  • Experience with systems engineering processes and methodologies
  • Knowledge of MBSE tools and modeling languages (SysML, DoDAF, UPDM, UAFML)
  • Understanding of verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) processes
  • Proficiency with SE technical management processes including risk management and technical reviews


Desired:

  • Master's degree in relevant technical discipline
  • Experience with DOW modeling and simulation systems
  • Familiarity with LVC simulation environments
  • Experience supporting military exercises or operational testing
  • Knowledge of DOW acquisition lifecycle and regulations
  • Prior experience with DEVCOM C5ISR Center or similar organizations
  • Certifications in systems engineering (CSEP, INCOSE, etc.)
