About the role

We are looking for two Maintenance Planners to ensure all weekly maintenance activities are planned and scheduled to ensure the efficiency of the maintenance crew and the reliability of the equipment in your respective area. The key to success in this position will be the individual’s ability to manage multiple resources/requests, exercise sound decision-making and deliver planned work to the committed timeframes.

Reporting to the Asset Management Superintendent and working in a collaborative community within the Asset Management Department, you will be working Monday to Friday and:

  • Ensuring safety needs are given a top priority in work planning and how you approach your work
  • Improving productivity of people, equipment, and work quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles to efficient work execution
  • Be responsible for maintenance work by producing quality maintenance plans that fit into the six-week planning process, which are practical, with all the resources identified with accurate estimates and all necessary materials
  • Providing KPI data showing maintenance performance of your department
  • Recommending system and design changes to improve planning processes
  • Leading follow-up meetings to capture learnings from the workforce to capture improvements in plant and procedures
  • Applying shutdown management best practices
  • Scheduling shipping of repairable items and track them until they return to site. Tracking long lead time parts orders where applicable.

About you

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • A related qualification, such as engineering, technology, trade, and/or a Maintenance Planning designation
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management software (i.e. SAP, Maximo, etc.)
  • Experience in Maintenance Planning or Scheduling in a mining/manufacturing or related maintenance setting
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word
  • Someone who works well with others, communicates clearly, leads conversations with confidence, and brings a thoughtful, organized approach to problem-solving

The base salary range for this role is $90,560 - $135,840 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
