Your New Role…

The Advanced Systems Engineer position requires in-depth knowledge and expertise in broadcast and live production systems (traditional, software defined, and cloud based) along with an advanced understanding of the advanced IT systems required to support both linear and non-linear productions.

This position will be expected to take the lead(including supervisory functionsand project management)on complex projectsandact as subject matter expert and resource for the tier 1 and tier 2 support teams as required.This position is expected to be able towork with teams in multiple facilities and even other regions where WBD has a presence.

Depending on thespecific knowledge area we need, the successful applicant will be extremely proficient in one or more of the following areas and seen by their peers asasubject matter expert:

  • Design andmaintainend-to-end signal flow architectures for live production facilities.
  • Manage video and audio routing infrastructures including SDI, SMPTE ST 2110, JPEG XS, NDI, SRT, and related IP transport technologies.
  • Configure and support broadcast control systems, orchestration platforms, router control panels, and software-defined networking solutions.
  • Develop andmaintainmonitoring strategies for signal integrity, path redundancy, quality of service, and fault detection.
  • Troubleshoot complex routing, timing, synchronization, and transmission issues affecting live production operations.
  • Create andmaintaindetailed signal flow documentation, routing maps, and operational standards.
  • Lead infrastructure deployments, upgrades, proof-of-concept testing, and technology evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Network Engineering, Production Engineering, Operations, and vendors to implement scalable and resilient workflows.
  • Provide Tier 3 escalation support during high-profile live events and critical broadcasts.

Your Role Accountabilities…

Architectural Design andExecution

TheAdvanced Systems Engineerwill be expected to perform system design, quotation and implementation including specification of all equipment and materialsrequiredpreparation of a bill of materials and the submission of cost estimates and justification to the senior leadership team.

Once a project is approved, you will oversee the integration of the new system and in most casesbe responsible forthe configuration of all componentsmanaging any relationships with third-party or internal partners/vendors. You willbe responsible forproviding system overviews andtrainingtherefore excellent communication skills area must.

Workflow efficiencies

Define new and creative ways to implement workflow changes which gain efficiency forthe business byengaging with peers, theteamand customers with innovative and cost-effective solutions.

Engineering Support

This position is expected to lead the support of the broadcast enterprise at a very high level. When needed, lead major incident calls (could be expected to act as the Incident Manager if appropriate) and be a source of knowledge for Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams as needed. They are expected to create training opportunities either through mentorship,training,or creating knowledgebasearticles.

Qualifications & Experiences…

  • Minimum oftenyears of experience inlive productionprojects and/or maintenance; or eight to ten years of experience in advanced IT support/systems designthat support live production.
  • Demonstrated understanding of fiber optic technology and broadcast satellite systems.
  • Ideally seeking an individual with experience of virtualized compute/storage infrastructure and systems, broadcast automation, play-to-air broadcast systems (including automation and play-out servers) and live studio & master control environments (including an advanced understanding of Graphics for production).
  • 2+ year Associate9sDegree with equivalent experience or a Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/ElectronicEngineeringor related discipline would be preferred.
  • Effective communicator with Senior Executives, Clients, and Vendors.
