Job Description

The Christ Hospital Health Network is in search of an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Sleep Medicine practices in the Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky areas. The qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will possess the following:
  • Experience in Sleep Medicine preferred, but not required
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Outstanding observational and analytical skills to diagnose and treat patients effectively
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide compassion and empathy
  • Indiana and Ohio licensing, as the APP will be required to travel between locations, if needed

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Function autonomously to conduct patient histories and physicals for complex, chronic and acute patients
  • Order, perform, and analyze diagnostic and therapeutic tests concerning the needs of the patient, and follow up on a regular basis to ensure their needs are being adequately met
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment to ensure health and comfort of all patients
  • Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines
  • Collaborate with physicians outside of practice to make appropriate referrals
  • Interact with staff when needed to provide quality patient care
  • Provide educational tools for self-management of acute or chronic illnesses
  • Respond to patients' phone calls and Epic "My Chart" messages concerning treatment plans and medications daily
  • Conduct peer-to-peer references with insurance companies and other third parties, in an effort to relay medical information to obtain certification for lab, x-ray and pharmacological treatments
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure outstanding patient care and satisfaction

Qualifications

Education:Graduate from accredited Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.

License/Certification:
  • DEA license
  • BLS and ACLS certified

Certified Nurse Practitioner: Acute Care, Adult, or Family Nurse Practitioner certification verified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Current, valid license (registration) by the Ohio Board of Nursing or applicable state board

OR

Physician Assistant: Graduate from accredited physician assistant program with a Master's Degree Physician Assistant Certification (verified by the National Commission or the Certification of Physician Assistant - NCCPA. Current, valid license (registration) by the state Medical Board of Ohio or applicable state medical board. Current Certificate to prescribe by the State Medical Board of Ohio.
