JOB SUMMARY-Infectious Disease Service

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides medical services to individuals, families and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values in accordance with Tampa General Hospital.

RESPONSIBILITIES-Infectious Disease Service

  • Daily inpatient rounding & associated documentation
  • Consultations & evaluation of patients with infectious disease diagnoses
  • Communicate with primary & multidisciplinary team to collaborate on the management of complex patients with infectious disease diagnoses


TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates current knowledge and level of expertise utilizing theory-based practice, infection control standards and clinical evaluations in providing care to clients in clinic or hospital-based settings, as evidenced by following established protocols.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service and conflict resolution abilities.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems.
  • Participates in department and organizational performance improvement activities such as development and revision of standards, protocols or critical pathways.
  • Performs duties according to established procedures, protocols, and professional standards.
  • Maintains protocol with supervising physician as required by state professional regulatory agencies.
  • Requests, interprets and evaluates diagnostic and laboratory tests and takes appropriate actions as medically indicated in accordance with departmental protocols. Identifies and reports any specific signs and symptoms, problems or potential problems requiring further assessment, communication and/or intervention to promote positive outcomes.
  • Promotes education of other professionals in developing skills and knowledge related to providing optimum health care.
  • Demonstrate a profound commitment to compassion, care, and integrity in all interactions with patients, families, and our team
