Job DescriptionMain ResponsibilitiesThe AME works to develop and implement manufacturing strategies by utilizing their knowledge of product design, materials, tooling and equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. They create plans that optimize work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow. The AME uses product requirements to create specifications for tooling and equipment and then works with vendors to procure, install and implement into the manufacturing facility.

- Ability to multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels.
Ability to maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote).
Specific Requirements Required Education Level Bachelor's Level Degree
Science Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering
Plastics or Engineering Technology required (BSME or BSMET or similar)
*Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.
Required Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge) 3-5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, advanced manufacturing, process engineering, tooling, or similar
Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge) • Experience in Automotive/Manufacturing (Tier One Automotive interiors experience preferred, not required)
• Candidates must demonstrate solid skills in communication, interpersonal relations, and ability to inspire individuals to improve performance.
• Mechanical aptitude and analytical problem solving
• Work flow, line balance and takt time
• Experience with AutoCAD
• DOE and data driven studies experience
• Six Sigma, Lean, Continuous Improvement training or experience
• Candidates must demonstrate technical and project management skills
• Familiar with entire product life including development, launch and production.
• Understands and demonstrates ability to work with and improve documented manufacturing standards

Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Requirements
• People Leaders/Managers and above and EHS Professionals must be certified on EHS Management Systems (e.g. EMS, OHSMS)
• EHS Professionals, YFIMS (EHS Principle) Auditors must be designated and certified as an EHS Internal Auditor
• Designated EHS Critical Roles must be certified (such as Plant Manager, EHS Professional, Operations Manager, Equipment / Maintenance / Facility Manager, Logistics Manager, Team Leader / Supervisor, Others)

• People Leaders/Managers and above, Quality Professionals and Quality personnel (eg. AME, ME, PE etc.).
• All Internal Auditors* (Including Quality System Auditor*, Process Auditor* and Product Auditors*)
• All product critical characteristic knowledge and legal requirements for product apply to Product Safety Personnel (e.g. Safety Parts Engineer, Operator, Inspector, etc.)
• Color/Appearance Evaluation - Apply to Color Evaluation personnel (e.g. Appearance Engineer, Operator, Inspector, etc.)
