Job Description

As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a crucial role in supporting and improving our processes, with a strong emphasis on electronic components, power systems, and assemblies.

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and work on-site at our Urbana, Ohio facility.

In this role, you will positively impact our Aerospace business by driving process improvements related to power systems manufacturing, strengthening product reliability, and contributing to overall operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development, optimization, and implementation of power systems-related production manufacturing processes which includes:
    • Basic understanding of power systems architectures, electronic components, assembly methods, oven curing, masking, and conformal coating.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot electronic/assembly issues and implement corrective actions. You will partner with production teams to ensure the smooth assembly of power supplies.

  • Completed entry-level experience/internships or a an aptitude for electronics engineering or related technical fields


  • Foundational knowledge of electronic circuits, components, assemblies, and testing methods


  • A growth mindset is required to learn new skills and processes


WE VALUE
  • Valuable qualifications in the AME I role include electronics manufacturing experience such as printed circuit board (PCB) assembly processes, electronic component integration, assembly workflow and wiring harness methods and standards.


  • Past experience troubleshooting and testing and of power supplies using oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, functional test equipment, and root-cause analysis of electronic failures would be advantageous in this position.


  • The ability to optimize process flow, understand Process Failure Mode basics, corrective action implementation and basic power supply design architectures is desirable. Having a basic understanding of aerospace manufacturing standards such as IPC and AS9100, and electronic component quality control procedures that can serve as a foundation of becoming a source certifying agent at our site.


  • Having a degree or related experience in Electronics Engineering is a good foundation for this position. In addition, a strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills related to electronics manufacturing is crucial.
