Full Job Description
Job Description

The Platform Electrical Design team is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) design team. In this technical leader role, you will be providing analysis through circuit simulation, EM (Electro Magnetic) modeling, and mathematical modeling of projects at different phases of design for circuit behavior and evaluation of their impact to their system.

The ideal candidate will also be responsible for decomposing specifications into lower level requirements and matrix compliance, defining EMC test strategy & procedures, and maximizing EMC/EMI test coverage. Product design EMC reviews will be from the system level down to piece part performance and include leading troubleshooting during EMC/EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) testing. As a leader of the EMC domain, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating EMC project coverage with management, EMC peers and recommending assignments for teammates. This position can be in Clearwater, FL, Plymouth, MN or Deer Valley, AZ.

Responsibilities

  • Simulation of electronic circuits for the effects of RF (radio frequency) radiated and conducted susceptibility and emissions.
  • Indirect effects of Lightning circuit modeling using LTspice (or spice related software)
  • Designing in lightning protection to circuits from the analysis performed
  • Lead the design and development for EMC of complex electrical systems and components.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to cross-functional teams for EMC.
  • Reviewing and evaluating Printed Board Assembly designs for EMC best practices including component placement, layer stack-up, signal integrity, trace routing
  • Developing and ensuring implementation of EMC Control Plans which define methodology for compatibility across the full EMC requirements suite including the mitigation strategies of attenuation, filtering and suppression techniques as applicable.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and analyze technical requirements.
  • Develop and implement electrical engineering strategies and best practices for EMC Design.
  • Manage project budgets and timelines for the project assigned.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring implementation of low noise systems as derived from implementation of optimal signal integrity, electronic component decoupling for high speed design, appropriate filtering and separation of analog, digital and power electronics.
  • Supports or executes one or more complex Printed Board Assembly (PBAs) development assignments, including supporting system trades, setting, and negotiating circuit requirements derived from system requirements, developing concepts/architectures, completing design, analysis, and testing in an engineering laboratory setting.
  • Follows and tailors best design practices and guidelines to ensure efficiency on given project task while ensuring design compliance and producibility.

This position may require occasional business related travel within the US or globally. Willing to travel 10% Relocate to Clearwater, FL, Plymouth, MN or Deer Valley, AZ
