This Opportunity

WSP is seeking an Advanced Air Mobility (AAM ) and Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) Expert to serve as a national technical authority, trusted client advisor, and market growth leader. This role provides leadership across strategy, delivery, business development, and thought leadership, supporting public-sector transportation and aviation clients as they plan for and implement next-generation aerial mobility solutions.

The position aligns with WSP's commitment to technical excellence, client service, innovation, and sustainable growth.

This role can be based out of any WSP Office location.
Your Impact

Client Focus & Advisory Excellence
  • Act as a trusted advisor to cities, state aviation and transportation departments, airports, and transit authorities on AAM and UAS strategy and implementation.
  • Lead client engagements delivering actionable strategies, feasibility studies, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Translate complex regulatory, technical, and operational issues into clear, decision-ready guidance for senior leaders.


Technical Excellence & Innovation
  • Provide subject-matter leadership in AAM and UAS, including FAA regulatory considerations, UTM, BVLOS operations, and multimodal integration.
  • Evaluate infrastructure readiness (vertiports, energy, communications, data platforms) and emerging aircraft technologies.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, defensible technical work products consistent with WSP standards.


Business Development & Market Growth
  • Support growth of WSP's AAM, UAS, and emerging mobility portfolio nationally.
  • Serve as key personnel on priority pursuits, shaping capture strategies, technical approaches, and differentiators.
  • Build and maintain strong client and partner relationships to identify and advance new opportunities.


National Thought Leadership & Brand Representation
  • Serve as a recognized industry leader through participation in national research, committees, peer exchanges, and conferences.
  • Lead or contribute to national guidance, white papers, and research initiatives (e.g., NCHRP, ACRP).
  • Strengthen WSP's external profile as a leader in advanced and emerging mobility.


People & Team Leadership
  • Mentor and support multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration across aviation, transportation, and digital practices.
  • Contribute to development of internal capabilities and talent in AAM and UAS.
  • Model WSP's values related to collaboration, integrity, and professional excellence.


Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred in aviation, engineering, transportation, planning, or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in aviation, transportation systems, emerging mobility, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated leadership in AAM and/or UAS strategy, research, or implementation.
  • Proven experience supporting business development and proposal efforts.
  • Strong understanding of public-sector transportation and aviation environments.
  • Excellent communication and executive-level client engagement skills.
  • Travel up to 35% of the time.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $210,000 - $300,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
