Job Summary:

The Advance Manufacturing Engineer will have strong communications with internal and external teams to provide manufacturing expertise, develop Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOMs), and provide recommendations to other Operations and Engineering personnel. This individual will develop, implement and maintain manufacturing methods, operation sequence and processes required for production within a digital environment.

We are looking for an Advance Manufacturing Engineer to work for our Auburn Hills, MI office. Essential Functions:
  • Define and control production processes, including sequence of operations, workflow and detailed methodology of complex assemblies and installations.
  • Development of MBOMs and detailed work instructions within Teamcenter PLM
  • Implement MBOMs into ERP system
  • Work with Operations and Engineering personnel on improvement to MBOMs, work instructions as part of continuous improvement
  • Understanding of MRP planning as related to MBOM structure and development.
  • Understanding of design release activities and engineering changes with the effect on the MBOM.
  • Interfaces with design engineering on incorporating changes to designs which improve manufacturability.
  • Liaison between engineering and manufacturing facilities
  • Documents procedures, process qualifications, etc.
  • Collaborates across the organization and with production, quality, and senior leaders on major projects.
  • Support production on-site and off-site.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience with PLM Teamcenter MPP, MBOM, Work Instructions and MRP planning
  • Experience with Digital Engineering Strategy and Digital Twin for Manufacturing
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Positive attitude and flexible approach to work
  • Ability to work as a contributing member of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Solid knowledge with technical standards, manufacturing engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Considerable knowledge of manufacturing capabilities is required, and previous plant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a self-motivated environment
  • Capable of reviewing designs in a CAD system, including interrogating models and drawings (mechanical and electrical)
  • Computer skills with Window-based PC systems & applicable software (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)


Education & Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Operations/Manufacturing fields
  • 10 years minimum of Manufacturing related experience in a digital environment.
  • Full vehicle development lifecycle (from concept to start of production)
  • Military vehicle systems engineering or complex subsystem design.


Background Prerequisites:

Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering
  • Develop and Maintain MBOM for Production
