Full Job Description
Under general supervision of the Quality & Ops Eng Supervisor, this position is responsible for driving change and continual improvement through collection and analysis of data as it relates to company metrics. This is in support of the Quality Standards required by the customer, including customers in the automotive and aerospace industries.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure TDM understands all pertinent Customer Quality Standards, including applicable aerospace industry standards and disseminate standards to appropriate areas (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP)
  • Support process development for new activities, including aerospace program launches
  • Assists in the development and ongoing alterations or enhancements of TDM quality standards, incorporating aerospace-specific quality requirements as applicable
  • Support supplier line up meetings as needed
  • Attend Customer related functions relative to TDM product quality as needed, including aerospace customer quality reviews
  • Support NCPR and AIMs processes as needed. Leads Corrective Actions and documentation through NCPR's, JIRA, 8D, PLEX and Customer/Supplier Portals.
  • Develops appropriate business process performance measures. KPI's, PPM, FTT
  • Leads continuous improvement strategies throughout organization
  • Authors Prototype, Launch & Production Process Flows, PFMEA's & Control Plans
  • Participates in internal, external and surveillance audit teams, including aerospace industry audits (e.g., AS9100/NADCAP surveillance audits)
  • Shepherds the process flow effort
  • Drives company wide document control by participating on the AFR team
  • Oversees TDM Document Retention Inventory Matrix
  • Oversees TDM Master Forms Index
  • Leads customer-related problem-solving efforts through the use of 8Ds
  • Drives throughput and increased value through Value Stream Mapping
  • Supports First Article Inspection (FAI) processes per AS9102 for aerospace programs
  • Supports Special Process approvals and NADCAP accreditation requirements as applicable
  • Performs other duties as required or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM REQUIRED:

Knowledge normally acquired with a Bachelor degree in a related discipline and/or equivalent relative to Quality normally acquired with 4 yrs. of Quality experience in the automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing industry or the equivalent with a combination of formal education and experience.

  • Able to travel for company purposes in support of program deliverables
  • AIAG elements of PPAP
  • Well versed in AIAG APQP
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry quality requirements (e.g., AS9100, AS9102 First Article Inspection, NADCAP special process requirements) preferred


PREFERRED:

Knowledge normally acquired with a Bachelor degree in a related discipline and/or equivalent relative to Quality normally acquired with 6 yrs. of Quality experience in the automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing industry or the equivalent with a combination of formal education and experience.

  • Possesses the minimum qualifications stated above
  • 6-sigma Blackbelt or Greenbelt
  • Direct experience working within an AS9100-certified quality management system
  • Experience supporting NADCAP special process audits and/or accreditation
  • Experience with aerospace-specific tools such as AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports
  • Experience interfacing with aerospace customers on quality escapes, corrective actions, and program quality reviews
  • IMDS Creation and Supplier IMDS reviews
