Job Summary

Independently supervises clinic operations in the The Cardiovascular Care & Prevention Center - Mission Bay, including multiple providers such as Physicians/Advanced Practice Providers/Registered Nurses/Medical Assistants/and Sonographers. Subordinates include staff involved with professional operational functions. Independent oversight of administrative areas such as practice revenue management, billing systems and procedures, facilities and safety procedures, registration, new patient coordination, scheduling, referrals, medical records storage and maintenance, insurance authorizations. May also supervise patient support staff such as medical assistants, RN's, sonogrpahers or LVNs, in coordination with the nursing lead.

Department Overview

The Cardiovascular Care and Prevention Center is a complex multidisciplinary specialty clinic that treats patients from new patient referral through ongoing medical management. The patient populations served include general cardiology and cardiology subspecialties, and will be a liaison for Medical Assistants at Berkely Outpatient Center, Bayfront, and San Mateo.

Assures quality care, and compliance with internal policy, external regulations and accepted practices across the continuum of care. May also supervise the fiscal

Independently supervises the quality of employees meeting patient service standards and coordinates the clinic patient care services, resolves system issues, advises on work methods, manages scheduling based on patient censusand ensures compliance

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent combination of experience / training.
  • Minimum five (5) years of healthcare admin analyst/leadership experience
  • Demonstrated skills to effectively supervise clinicians and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a clinic(s) / center(s). Strong knowledge of practice operations.
  • In depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards and care delivery, systems, external regulations and internal policies.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaborations and problem solving with all levels of management and staff, consultants and outside agencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, to convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in clinic / center patient care.
  • Utilizes electronic medical record system as well as other organizational information systems to gather, organize and report data relevant to clinic specialties within.
