Full Job Description
Materials Sciences LLC (MSC) is looking for a US citizen at our Huntsville, AL facility for the role of Additive Manufacturing Engineer. At MSC, you'll be part of the Research & Development team servicing the Department of Defense (DoD) seeking advanced material and fabrication solutions to support the warfighter. Advanced materials include fiber reinforced composite materials, specialty polymers, and additive manufacturing (AM) materials. Main responsibilities include design, analysis, fabricating, characterization/testing, and documentation for producing advanced material structures. You will also work with a broader team in the design and delivery of advanced material solutions to our customers. Requirements: • Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience. • Software and Hardware knowledge using "production grade" additive manufacturing equipment. (Laser Powder Bed Fusion, Direct Energy Deposition, Fused Deposition) • CAD and Finite Element Analysis software knowledge. (Training available) • Ability to develop, execute, and document Design of Experiments (DOE) • Able to work independently; Capable of scheduling and executing as necessary to support and complete tasks as required. • Communicate effectively with team members to complete objectives in a timely manner • Fundamental understanding of Mechanics of Materials
