Description

The Associate Director, Real Estate & Facility Management Operations serves as the principal deputy and strategic partner to the Director, Real Estate & Facility Management for the Ridgefield campus. The role provides:
  • Day-to-day operational leadership, governance, and oversight of all REFM activities at the Ridgefield campus while ensuring alignment with GFE, business, compliance, workplace experience, sustainability, and planning and monitoring of budgets.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of all facilities, workplace, real estate, infrastructure, service provider, and operational initiatives occurring across the site and serves as the acting department leader during the Director's absence.
  • Bridges strategic direction and operational execution by integrating facility management services, workplace experience, space management, site services, vendor governance, capital planning, sustainability initiatives, fleet operations, compliance activities, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Leads the management and performance of complex, multi-service Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) agreements, overseeing vendor relationships, service-level achievement, financial performance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drives operational excellence through internal teams, external service providers, and matrixed partnerships across business units while ensuring safe, compliant, cost-effective, and customer-focused services that support Ridgefield's scientific, commercial, and corporate operations.


Compensation Data

The base salary range for this position is $165,600 to $248,400. The position may be eligible for a role specific discretionary bonus, relocation, and/or other compensation elements. We continuously review market data and may adjust salary ranges as needed in the future. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as Deputy Department Head for REFM and act on behalf of the Director when required.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships through stakeholder engagement across business units, functions, and service providers to ensure alignment of facility management programs, projects, and operational services with business priorities. Foster collaborative partnerships, drive customer satisfaction, and influence decision-making through effective communication, governance, and performance review processes.
  • Maintain oversight of all REFM service lines including Integrated Facility Management, Real Estate, Workplace Experience, Logistics, Fleet, Grounds, Housekeeping, Conference Services, Food Services, Space Planning, and other Site Services.
  • Lead campus-wide workplace experience initiatives with support of the Global team.
  • Support the creation of and drive control of local REFM operating budgets, capital needs, savings initiatives, and performance reporting across REFM functions.
  • Identify and manage operational risks and escalate significant issues to Director and GFE Leadership.
  • Drive implementation of GFE strategies, standards, policies, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Select and onboard FM suppliers in line with relevant procurement standards
  • Define and monitor service scopes, SLAs, and KPIs of FM suppliers
  • Accountable for standardized reporting and performance reviews of suppliers
  • Manage contract changes, claims and potential escalations with FM suppliers
  • Lead service delivery excellence programs and customer engagement initiatives across campus. Champion continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence methodologies.
  • Ensure alignment between facility services strategies and business needs across all site functions.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Facility Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline and 8+ years of Facilities Management or Site Operations experience.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree (MBA, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field)IFMA, FMP, SFP, PMP, LEED or comparable certifications, having worked with or for a Global IFM provider
