Job Summary:The Standard's Individual Annuities division has an open role responsible for driving and supporting work related to our financial reporting team: FP&A, valuation, reserve analytics, hedging, reinsurance, and business performance.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning financial results related to highly visible functions that impact our financial results and strategic direction and will play a key role in the production, analysis, and communication of financial results and projections of our MYGA and FIA businesses, partnering closely with pricing, modeling, ALM, and finance teams.
Responsibilities include reporting, valuation, earnings analysis, reserve attribution analysis, as well as supporting key strategic initiative / teams such as affiliate reinsurance, modeling, VM22 team, and business integration. This is a high impact individual contributor role, with near term leadership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:- Own execution and enhancement of reporting, valuation, earnings analysis, FP&A, and hedging and communicate results to senior management.
- Design and implement reporting support for functions such as VM22, reinsurance, and business integration.
- Analyze GAAP, statutory, and management reporting results, including reserves, earnings, and capital movements.
- Enhance governance model (change management, internal controls, and offshore partner review).
- Partner with pricing, modeling, and corporate actuarial to ensure consistency in understanding stakeholder needs and effective/aligned story telling.
- Analyze results-identify drivers, limitations, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and improve analytical tools, reporting processes, and speed / clarity of processes and capabilities.
- Provide mentorship and project leadership to onshore and offshore team members related to core team responsibilities.
Skills and Background You'll Need:Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in mathematics, actuarial science, business, or a related field preferred.
Certification: ASA required/FSA preferred
Experience:- Prior hands-on experience sufficient to have gained a seasoned actuarial business perspective in the Individual Annuities space is required. (5+ yrs. preferred)
- Modeling experience including change management, internal controls & review required.
- FP&A and FIA financial reporting experience (preferred)
- Experience with GGY AXIS & Python (preferred)
Skills:- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to own and explain reserve movements.
- Contributes actuarial, financial and industry expertise combined with unique product line knowledge to positively impact organizational strategy.

Actuary: Demonstrates expertise in Company's risk profile, risk appetite and risk management practices. Obtains foundational understanding of industry risk management practices. Utilizes Company and industry practices to complete risk-based analysis and propose appropriate risk-based opportunities. (Salary Range: $131,750.00 - $192,500.00)

The actual compensation for this role will be based on a combination of education and experience, knowledge and skills, position budget, internal equity, and market data.
Salary Range:
$131,750.00 - $192,500.00
