This position leverages intermediate to advanced analytical processes that evolve alongside business needs. The Actuarial Technical Analyst II is responsible for ensuring data integrity by proactively maintaining accurate, up-to-date datasets and demonstrating a deep understanding of underlying data structures and business applications.
Responsibilities- Build and maintain countrywide datasets across all lines of business and systems
- Develop, validate, and ensure the integrity of data used for business decision-making
- Optimize processes and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness
- Apply insurance domain knowledge to build datasets supporting Market Pricing analytical needs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Advanced Analytics, IT, and business stakeholders
- Partner with senior management to ensure analysis is clearly interpreted and drives appropriate action
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
- Make decisions across a wide variety of scenarios by interpreting guidelines and applying sound judgment and discretion
- Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to less experienced team members
- Communicate effectively with business partners and senior leadership
- Efficiently retrieve, manipulate, and analyze large datasets
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree, professional-level knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience
- 3+ years of experience or equivalent related knowledge
- Experience performing intermediate quantitative analyses
- Strong analytical and coding expertise
- Experience implementing methodologies or process improvements
- Ability to independently complete intermediate analyses and contribute to complex projects under managerial guidance
- Demonstrated success managing multiple workstreams simultaneously and prioritizing tasks effectively
- 2-3 years of experience supporting at least one of the following business areas:
Market Pricing
Personal Lines (PL) / Commercial Lines (CL) Product or Underwriting
Reserving
Claims
Pay Transparency: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range: $121,000- $182,000
