Summary

The Business Intelligence Analyst II is responsible for building and maintaining datasets to support enterprise reporting, data marts, and advanced analytics with a strong focus on Commercial claims intelligence and business performance. Performs advanced data analysis and modeling, translating business needs into high-quality reporting and visualization requirements.

Provides consultative support, to Underwriting, Product, Claims, and Distribution, delivering actionable insights that drive profitability, operational alignment, and market responsiveness. Ensures data integrity while translating analysis into clear, prescriptive recommendations.

Develops and delivers executive-level presentations, effectively communicating complex analytical insights in a concise, decision-ready format for senior leadership.

What You'll Do
  • Generate Portfolio & Segment Insights Analyze performance (loss ratio, growth, retention, mix) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that inform strategic direction
  • Support Product Strategy & Development Deliver data-driven insights to inform product design, target segments, and value propositions; contribute to business cases and growth strategies
  • Translate Analytics into Actionable Recommendations Convert complex data and actuarial outputs into clear, decision-ready insights that guide product, underwriting, and strategy decisions
  • Enable Underwriting & CUO Strategy Execution Provide insights to refine risk appetite, segment focus, and underwriting actions to improve portfolio quality and profitability
  • Develop Decision Support Tools & Reporting Build dashboards, analyses, and monitoring frameworks that support ongoing strategy evaluation and product performance tracking
  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment Partner across Product, Actuarial, and Underwriting to align on insights, ensure consistency in decision-making, and support execution of strategic initiatives
  • Create & Present Executive-Level Materials Develop clear, compelling presentations within Power Point (e.g., portfolio reviews, performance readouts, strategic recommendations) and deliver insights to senior leadership and business stakeholders


What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 4-6 years of experience in business intelligence, in reporting, data analytics, or dashboard development.
  • Experience creating reports and dashboards using Power BI, Excel, or similar BI platforms, with basic to intermediate data skills including SQL, data validation, data cleansing, and data manipulation.


Pay Transparency

The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Salary Range: $87,700 - $135,300
