Are you looking for a role where you can make an impact and have the opportunity to lead, influence and transform DGIG's decision-making process for rate adjustment strategies in the commercial lines space? Want to put your knowledge of overall rate-level analysis to work? Are you eager to innovate and passionate about process optimization? The Commercial Lines National Ratemaking & Analysis and Business Solutions team is looking for a candidate to join them as an actuarial team lead in the rate-level sector - you may be just the person we're looking for! More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Oversee the production of rate indications for both auto and property & liability products nationally
  • Review the current process for rate indications, identify areas of improvements and find innovative solutions to make it more sophisticated and efficient
  • Develop and recommend rate adjustment strategies
  • Work closely with external and internal stakeholders to socialize profitability outlook and rate-level proposals
  • Coach team members and participate in their career development discussions
  • Contribute and assist in team planning as well as strategic planning on team's short-term and long-term vision

What you bring to the table
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience, including extensive experience with the overall rate-level analysis process
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Successful completion of at least five CAS exams
  • Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec
  • Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
  • Knowledge of P&C commercial lines insurance
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SAS, VBA, RADAR, Emblem and R
