Responsibilities & Qualifications

In this role, you can expect to:
  • Perform basic data compilation and analytical support for pricing, reserving, and price level indications.
  • Assist in analysis, development, and validation of statistical data.
  • Assist in the extraction, compilation, and analysis of information from company computer systems.
  • Assist in preparing exhibits and reports for management, as directed.
  • Monitor developments in actuarial techniques and research trends.
  • Assist with development of business solutions that incorporate statistical models and computational data analysis utilizing: Generalized Linear Modeling (GLM), Principal Components Analysis, Clustering and Classification Models, Multivariate Regressions and/or Decision Trees.
  • Develop understanding of financial and operational issues impacting the company.
  • Provide technical reviews of other staff members' work as needed and ensure all personal work is properly reviewed.


Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, finance, or a related field, or equivalent education, training, or experience.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience is required for the Actuarial Analyst level; at least 2 years of relevant experience is required for the Actuarial Consultant level or equivalent education, training, or experience.
  • Completion of at least one actuarial exam is required for the Actuarial Analyst level; completion of at least 3 actuarial exam is required for the Actuarial Consultant level.
  • Commitment to continued progress on the CAS exam track.


It would be great to have:
  • Proficiency in Excel, including the use of macros.
  • Ability to write basic computer programs and queries.
  • Ability to understand basic data analysis and actuarial techniques.

The base pay range is based on the market evaluation of the job and may include pay for multiple levels. Individual base pay within the range is determined by a variety of factors, including experience, performance, education, and demonstration of skills and competencies required for each role. Base Pay Range: $76,998.10 - $115,090.50 Per Year

Texas Mutual's flex-hybrid schedule allows you to bring your best self to work by working remotely and collaborating in the office based on business needs. All Texas Mutual employees are required to have Texas residency and travel to their designated office as needed.
