IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking an Acoustic Consultant in our Indianapolis, IN office. As an Acoustic Consultant, you will assist in design efforts and support the project manager and/or lead designer for delivery of projects varying in complexity. They will be responsible for working closely with a team of engineers and consultants to develop solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include assisting in analysis, design, and implementation oversight of acoustics within the built environment. This position will be expected to work efficiently and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
Principal Responsibilities
• Support design efforts for the analysis and development of projects across various market sectors.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly across many different audiences using narratives, diagrams, and engaging presentations.
• Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively. Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
• Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects. Support efforts in project planning and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives. Document design decisions and instructions from clients.
• Execute calculations according to code requirements and industry standards, develop specification clauses, and contribute to the development of acoustic recommendations and integrated project solutions.
• Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that design strategies meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies/products, and best practices. Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
• Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager
• Conduct site measurements, commissioning, and testing on projects during design and construction.
• Contribute to overall team success through quality work, contributing to resourcing, and building morale
Required Skills/Abilities
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Proficiency of fundamentals of acoustics, fundamentals of vibration, engineering acoustics, noise control, digital signal processing, electroacoustics, human responses to acoustics and vibration
• Ability to train, mentor, and motivate less experienced staff
• Proficiency of industry standard acoustic engineering software and tools
• Proficiency with specialist technical equipment and software such as sound level meters, vibration analyzers, 3D acoustic / electroacoustic computer modeling, digital signal processing and visual programming language audio software (e.g. Matlab, Max/MSP), 2D and 3D BIM software, 3D modeling software (Rhinoceros 3D, Sketchup)
• Proficiency with the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and validation of it's output for the support of project work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
• Ability to travel up to 20%, including local, domestic, and international travel as needed for business purposes, which may include overnight stays and/or air travel
• This position not eligible for sponsorship
Education and Experience
• Degree in acoustics or architectural engineering OR a degree in music, architecture, physics, engineering, computer science, sound reproduction, sound recording, with strong demonstrated experience in acoustics
• 2 - 4 years of experience minimum required in the building design consulting industry
Physical Requirements
• Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
• Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
• Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises.

Salary Range: $86,000 - $120,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on
location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge,
skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock
