Full Job Description
The Accounting Operations Manager will oversee two direct reports and own responsibilities related to the General Ledger, as well as oversight of Payroll and Accounts Payable functions. Duties include managing the month-end close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, supporting audit activities, and leading process improvement initiatives. The role also includes providing guidance to staff, collaborating with various departments, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates will have experience with professional services organizations and managing a General Ledger of at least $50 million. Responsibilities: General Ledger (GL) - Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes - Consolidation of multi company P&Ls - Ensure accurate journal entries and reconciliations - Maintain chart of accounts and multi company working papers - Analyze variances vs. budget and forecast - Ensure proper accounting treatment in compliance with GAAP/IFRS - Quantify KPI and commission schedules - Annual, FAR and 401k Audits Payroll Management - Supervise payroll operations and compliance - Coordinate with HR for accurate employee data - Experience with Multi State payroll - Oversee payroll tax filings and reporting - Complete payroll reconciliations Accounts Payable (AP) - Lead AP team in invoice and payment processing - Review and approve payment batches - Maintain vendor relationships and cash flow oversight Compliance and System Implementation - Business Licenses & State registrations - Lead Implementation of Navan, an AI-powered corporate travel and expense management platform Leadership & Collaboration - Mentor and develop accounting staff - Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues - Implement process improvements and present reports Skills and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related curricular focus - 4+ years of progressive accounting experience - 1+ years of experience in a Professional Services Organization - Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, managing shifting priorities and deadlines while staying organized and composed under pressure - 2+ years of experience leading people and processes, including managing workstreams without direct authority; prior oversight of payroll and accounts payable strongly preferred - Strong expertise in general ledger management and complex account reconciliations - Demonstrated experience preparing working papers and driving an efficient month-end close process - Solid understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks - Experience partnering with external auditors to support compliance and successful audits - Hands-on experience overseeing payroll and accounts payable operations with a focus on accuracy and timeliness - Proficiency in ERP and payroll systems; Vantagepoint experience is a plus What we offer: Salary range of $105,000 - $120,000 depending upon qualifications, experience, and overall fit.
