Full Job Description
Accounting Manager

Location: Glenpool, Oklahoma
Work Arrangement: Fully onsite
Salary: $100,000-$125,000, depending on experience

We are a well-established and growing commercial flooring contractor supporting projects across the United States. We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to join our team in Glenpool and take broad ownership of our day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions.

This is not a position for someone who wants to focus solely on managing people or reviewing work from a distance. Our Accounting Manager will remain actively involved in the general ledger, month-end close, financial statements, job-level P&Ls, budgeting, payroll, AP, AR, and multi-company accounting.

You will also work closely with our Operations team to review project performance, compare actual results against estimates, investigate variances, and help leadership better understand the profitability and financial performance of the business.

This opportunity could be an excellent next step for an experienced Senior Accountant who is ready for broader ownership and an Accounting Manager title. We are also open to an established Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller who enjoys remaining hands-on and wants the opportunity to continue growing toward Controller-level responsibility.
What You'll Do as Our Accounting Manager
  • Manage general ledger activity, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare job-level P&Ls and review ongoing project performance against estimates.
  • Partner with Operations to investigate variances and explain project profitability and financial results.
  • Manage accounting activity across multiple companies and varying lines of business.
  • Record, reconcile, and resolve intercompany transactions.
  • Oversee accounts payable, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and AP automation.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, cash application, and aging analysis.
  • Support payroll processing and perform payroll reconciliations for a multi-state workforce.
  • Prepare annual budgets, budget-to-actual reporting, and financial projections.
  • Reconcile company credit cards and employee expenses.
  • Provide financial information and supporting documentation to our external CPA firm and outside auditors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, reporting, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Help guide accounting workflows and provide support or mentorship to other accounting staff.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive company and employee financial information.
What We're Looking For
  • At least seven years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Hands-on experience managing general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Strong QuickBooks Online proficiency. You should be able to work effectively in QBO without extensive training.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP, formulas, and complex spreadsheet analysis.
  • Experience managing accounting for multiple companies, entities, divisions, or lines of business.
  • Experience recording and reconciling intercompany transactions.
  • Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and payroll.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies.
  • The ability to clearly explain financial information to operational and non-financial team members.
  • A high level of accuracy, discretion, organization, and follow-through.
  • The ability and willingness to work fully onsite in Glenpool. This position is not remote or hybrid.
Experience That Would Be Especially Valuable
  • Accounting experience within construction, specialty contracting, manufacturing, distribution, oil and gas, or another project-based business.
  • Experience with job costing, project accounting, job-level P&Ls, or profitability analysis.
  • Experience reviewing actual project performance against estimates or budgets.
  • Multi-state payroll experience.
  • Experience using AP automation tools or improving accounting processes.
  • Previous responsibility for supervising, mentoring, training, or reviewing the work of accounting staff.
  • Experience supporting external audits and working directly with an outside CPA firm.
What We Offer
  • Base salary of $100,000-$125,000, depending on experience.
  • Health insurance.
  • Dental insurance.
  • Vision insurance.
  • Paid time off.
  • A stable and growing company with commercial projects across the country.
  • Broad ownership across accounting, reporting, and operational finance.
  • Direct interaction with Operations and company leadership.
  • The opportunity to improve processes and make a visible impact on the business.
  • Continued professional growth toward greater accounting leadership and Controller-level responsibility.

If you are a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys building reliable processes, understanding the story behind the numbers, and helping Operations make better business decisions, we would love to hear from you.
