We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented
Accounting Manager to lead key accounting operations and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. This role will oversee general accounting activities, lead month-end and year-end close processes, support financial reporting, and help ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
What You'll Do- Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll, and account reconciliations.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances, providing meaningful insights and recommendations to management.
- Assist with the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Allocate resources and manage workloads to meet deadlines and departmental objectives.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and increase accuracy through automation and technology.
- Support ERP system implementations, upgrades, and other accounting technology initiatives.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Tax, Treasury, HR, and other business functions to improve reporting and decision-making.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, acquisitions, integrations, and other special projects.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Participate in initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence.
What We're Looking For- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP or financial systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of integrity and accountability.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate an accounting team.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to partner effectively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications- CPA designation preferred.
- Experience in distribution, manufacturing, energy, lubricant, fuel, or industrial industries.
- Experience supporting multi-location or multi-entity organizations.
- Experience with ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
- Experience leading process improvement, automation, or accounting transformation initiatives.
