Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely processing of invoices by managing accounts payable staff.
  • Support financial reporting, analyzing cost, budget variances, and cash forecasts for accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the Development team to monitor project updates and ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • Facilitate external audits by organizing requests and providing necessary documentation.
  • Drive process improvements and contribute to other accounting projects as needed.

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager is a hands-on contributor responsible for overseeing the accounting for MRP's portfolio of development projects. This role requires strong knowledge of accounting principles, ability to react to shifting priorities and deadlines, and strong interpersonal skills. The Accounting Manager will work cross-functionally to ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and appropriately supported.

Key Responsibilities
• Own the accounting process for multiple development projects through all phases of construction.
• Oversee the monthly close for assigned entities including approving journal entries and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable staff to ensure timely processing and payment of invoices and a strong control environment.
• Support internal and external financial reporting, including cost analysis, budget v. actual, cash forecast, and ad hoc reports, analyzing results for accuracy and reasonableness.
• Coordinate with the Development team to stay informed on project updates, monitoring all activity for appropriate accounting treatment.
• Support external audits by coordinating requests and providing accurate, timely documentation.
• Support process improvements and other accounting projects as needed.

Frequency and location of travel for team meetings and job duties will vary by role. MRP is an in-office 4 days a week organization.

Base salary ranges are designed to be competitive by market and take into consideration individual experience, technical skills and long-term career growth. Each employee is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on their level and company annual performance metrics.

$120,000.00 Annually to $130,000.00 Annually
