Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:

The Galveston Bay Refinery ("GBR") Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for the business activities related to contractor attendance, invoicing and payment via the TRACK application. This position is also responsible for supervision of the TRACK Governance team which monitors and oversees the use of the TRACK Application for all refinery/renewable fuel locations and the L3S organization. In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position will be expected to assist staff and business partners in troubleshooting and resolving day-to-day issues. This position interacts with refinery personnel, including refinery management as well as other refineries, Findlay IT, Findlay/SAT accounting and the licensor of the TRACK application, MCi.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide oversight and direction to ensure work assignments for the assigned areas of responsibilities are efficiently and effectively performed.
  • Supervises staff of approximately 7 exempt and non-exempt individuals.
  • Provide oversight and direction in managing day-to-day activities related to contractor accountability, invoicing and per-diem issues.
  • Work with Supply Chain to resolve contractor rate, pay formula and purchase order issues, mainly relevant to Track processes.
  • Assist project controls personnel in addressing contractor reporting issues.
  • Work closely with Findlay IT and MCi to resolve TRACK performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Work with other refineries to ensure appropriate Track staffing during times of turnarounds or large projects.
  • Ensure TRACK related SOX controls are executed in timely and effective manner.
  • Assist in implementing new accounting policies and coordinate communication to other impacted refinery departments.
  • Work on special projects as needed.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • 8+ years of accounting experience is required.
  • Prior "lead" or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous MPC Refinery Accounting experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience with TRACK system is preferred.
