Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee our financial accounting processes and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive process improvements. This role is crucial in maintaining our company's financial integrity and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This is not a remote position. 

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Assign tasks, manage workloads, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
  • General Ledger Management:
    • Supervise the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all entries.
    • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial projections.
    • Ensure proper classification and recording of all transactions.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close:
    • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure all deadlines are met.
    • Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary information for the close.
    • Prepare and review accruals, reclasses, and adjustments as needed.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, SOX requirements, and relevant accounting standards.
    • Assist internal and external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to enhance and streamline accounting processes and systems.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial performance to senior management.
    • Monitor budget performance and analyze variances, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience in managing month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
